Arts Week: Day 2,3 and 4!

Tuesday: Otto's grandfather, who is a sculptor, came to visit all the way from Holland to show us his work. He also helped us make our own sculptures of ourselves.

Wednesday: Judy Davies came to do some drama with us. It was all about 'The Rainbow Fish'.

We made a ocean from blue material. Some sharks were chosen who had to swim under the material and find people.
We also had a go at using our observational skills to make sketches of the woodland animals in our classroom.

We went out in the local area to sketch the local landscape. Looking carefully at what we could actually see.

Thursday: Inspired by the latest work by David Hockney, we created paintings based upon the sketches that we did yesterday of Eastcombe.

Arts Week: Day 1

Today we met John Dunne, a professional illustrator. He showed us lots of his work, both digital drawings and animations.
John showed the children how to approach drawing a cartoon. First starting with a basic shape and then adding further shapes to create a cartoon.

The children really enjoyed drawing cartoons and produced some fantastic work.

He was very impressed with the effort that the children made. They were very inspired by his work and he was a fantastic teacher.

Come back tomorrow to see pictures of our clay portraits.

FS2 Creations

This is what was created when we left playdough and materials out for the children to use. They created some fantastic creatures that were very colourful and creative. It is lovely to see the children's work when it is child initiated and their own idea.
